Details for: From Greifenstein to the Lourdes grotto
Brief description
A nice, family-friendly hike, the highlights of which include Greifenstein Castle (not accessible) and the Lourdes grotto. The route is suitable for families, but not for pushchairs. The short stretch from Greifenstein railway station to the start of the hiking route on Hadersfelderstrasse runs along a main road, and the footpath is narrow. The initially rather unattractive connection to the railway station is followed by a fantastic hiking trail.
Description
Tip/Fun-Fact: The highlight of this route is the Lourdes grotto, which was built in the 1920s as a replica of the famous Sanctuary of our Lady of Lourdes in France, and has been a popular pilgrimage site ever since.
