Details for: Sulzbichl - Trefflingfall - Sulzbichl

Brief description

This is an impressive hike along the roaring Trefflingfall, perhaps the most spectacular waterfall in the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park!

Description

Starting point of the tour is the Sulzbichl in Puchenstuben. The hike starts out quite comfortably along the Trefflingbach brook through a beautiful ravine forest. On a carefully laid-out path and across bridges and footbridges, hikers walk alongside the water that plunges more than 120 metres over several cascades into the Erlauf river. With this, the Trefflingfall is considered one of the highest waterfalls in Lower Austria.

At the lowest point of the hike, the Erlauf river with its captivating crystal-clear turquoise water awaits you and invites you to a quick cooling-off before you fight your way back up along the impressive Trefflingfall to the starting point. Afterwards, the “Trefflingfallhütte” mountain hut and the “Trefflingtalerhaus” inn await you with food and drinks!
