Do you fancy a gentle cycling tour with the whole family? The Zöbernbach Radweg cycle route in the Viennese Alps is 16.5 km and is between Kirchschlag and Zöbern. As an option, you can continue to Aspang Markt and then join the Eurovelo 9 route from there.
Description
The Zöbernbach Radweg links the villages of Krumbach, Bad Schönau and Kirchschlag and is part of the Panorama and Wehrkirchenwegrouten (Panoramic and Fortified Church Ways). The fortified churches of the Bucklige Welt are monuments to the region’s turbulent history. The Wehrkirchenroute (Fortified Church Way) guides us to the most attractive buildings. On top of this, the cycle route carries on past Krumbach. The Museumdorf in Krumbach consists of five historic buildings: including an old farmhouse, a chapel, and the old public hospital. This open-air museum covers the history of Krumbach and portrays farming and religious life within the Bucklige Welt.

Route description Zöbernbach Radweg
The Zöbernbach Radweg heads from Krumbach via the Unterhaus and Sägemühle along the Zöbernbach stream through the village of Bad Schönau and on to Kirchschlag, at which point it connects to the central Burgenland bike route network.
Directions
If you are coming from Vienna take the A2 until you reach the Krumbach exit. Continue along the B55 as far as Kirchschlag in der Buckligen Welt.
If you are coming from Graz take the A2 as far as the L137 then take the Aspang exit. Travel from the L137 and the B55 on to Kirchschlag in der Buckligen Welt.
Parking
Car parking is available in the village.
From Wiener Neustadt railway station, the Blaguss 7860 bus travels to Kirchschlag.

Author's tip
There are options to stay overnight in Bad Schönau such as the Vitalzeit Hotel Weber and the Genießerpension Dopler in Krumbach at the Ottner family’s Krumbacherhof. There is a connecting route from Zöbern to Aspang Markt which links to the Eurovelo 9 - Thermenradweg bike route.
