Cellar lane "Oagossn“ Falkenstein "
Cellar-lined roads
Description
The Falkensteiner Kellergasse is a well-preserved, unusually colorful and lively wine cellar lane called "Oagossn" (egg lane). It is also home to the Falkensteiner Berggericht, which has stood for the quality of Falkenstein wines since the Middle Ages. In addition to open cellar doors, annual festivals and wine-related events are organized in the Oagossn, such as the annual Berggerichtslauf, the famous "Wine-Art-Culture" cellar lane festival and wine baptisms.
The FalkArt association has shown "courage to fill the gap": rows of abandoned cellars have been filled with life and art. In honor of the "Oagossn", an art object - "The Egg" - was installed by the renowned artist Sabine Müller-Funk: A glass egg reflects the wine cellar lane on its surfaces, and if you let yourself get involved, you can have a wonderful time playing with egg shapes and surroundings on and between the glasses!
At the end of the wine cellar lane, a rarity of a special kind has been created: a cellar museum under the motto "This is how it was in the old days" (visits by appointment by telephone).
A show cellar with a cellar tube and wooden barrels allows you to "immerse yourself in the mysterious world of wine". In addition, a film provides information about the work and pleasure of a winegrower throughout the year.
The wine hiking park "The Flight of the Falcon" also leads through the wine cellar lane with its themed hiking trails: metal wings sit on limestones, printed with the stories and tales of the falcon, also available in English and Czech via smartphone!
