Description

In future, the TULLN CITY MUSEUM will combine the Roman Museum, the documentation on the imperial convent and the Virtulleum. Following a comprehensive redesign, it is now opening its doors in full. In the Roman Museum in Marcus Aurelius Park, life in the Roman camp ‘Comagena’ from 90 to 488 AD is brought to life with original finds, dioramas, models and pictures. Special emphasis is placed on military and civilian life as well as the province of Noricum. A model of the fort and the depiction of paths that still exist today illustrate the historical development. A photo documentation shows other forts in the Tulln area. The Roman Museum Tulln has been awarded the Austrian Museum Seal of Quality several times, which stands for excellent museum work. Only 223 museums in Austria have been awarded this honour. The STADTMUSEUM TULLN therefore not only offers exciting insights into the past, but also an outstanding cultural experience that emphasises quality and history.

Public arrival is easily accessible by train or bus.
