Lake stage in Lunz am See

Description

Die Seebühne Lunz is considered a unique architectural setting for cultural events: During the day, the approximately 50-square-meter stage is both a sun terrace and sunbathing area as well as a diving tower for summertime bathers. In the evening, the steel and wood construction of the cover is raised by water power - and thus becomes a protective roof for the 250-seat spectator stand. In this way, the multifunctional structure is transformed into an atmospheric event location that perfectly combines nature and art.

The audience's view extends over the floating stage and the lake to the wooded and rocky shore opposite. Together with the natural light moods in the evening and at night, every event becomes an unforgettably harmonious experience.

Die Seebühne Lunz - a work of art in itself

The idea for a stage on the lake came from the makers of the well-known "wellenklaenge" festival, which, as a well-established fixture of the Mostviertel art and culture scene, now also has a fixed performance venue with this stage. The structure was created by artist Hans Kupelwieser. The well-known sculptor, graphic artist and photographer comes directly from Lunz am See. His work was constructed by "werkraum Wien".

Since its opening in summer 2004, the sensational stage on the waterfront has received several awards, such as the Austrian Bau-Preis 2005.
