Description
The flat granite ridge of the Waldviertel Manhartsberg - part of the Bohemian Massif - reaches its highest point at 537 meters. Situated between the Thaya and Wagram rivers, the friendly excursion mountain nestles in the Kamptal-Schönberg Nature Park. As the second largest nature park in Lower Austria, it covers an area of more than 25 km² of water, forest and meadows.
The forest nature trail from Schönberg am Kamp leads directly to the lookout point on the Manhartsberg. The vantage point - equipped with comfortable tables and benches under black pines - offers a view over the original Kamptal. In good weather, the view reaches as far as the Ötscher. The Hubertus Chapel as well as an information board about the villages and mountains around are also waiting for the hikers. The entire region also offers family-friendly excursion destinations and restaurants.

Good to know: The remains of a radio jamming position from World War II can still be found on the Manhartsberg.
