Schöffelstein

Description
The 425m high Schöffelstein is considered a local mountain of the Viennese. It is located in the Vienna Woods near Purkersdorf. It can be reached from Vienna by public transport. The mountain is named after the "savior of the Vienna Woods", Josef Schöffel. In 1872, Schöffel successfully defended himself against a clearing.
Hike to the Schöffelstein
A marked forest road leads from Purkersdorf to the Schöffelstein. At the summit there is a memorial stone in honor of Josef Schöffel.
