Description
The Gespitzte Riegel is a 594 meter high mountain in the Rosaliengebirge in Lower Austria. Only about 200 meters east of the summit runs the border with Burgenland.
Location: Vienna Alps in Lower Austria, Rosaliengebirge, municipality of Katzelsdorf.
Neighboring mountains are the Bergkogel (621 m) and the Mitterriegel (506 m). The main ridge of the Rosaliengebirge between the Bergkogel and the Gespitzter Riegel is called "Gscheid".
Tour over the Gespitzter Riegel
The circular hiking trail, Katzeldorfer Gipfelweg leads over the Gespitzten Riegel. Starting point is at Katzelsdorf Castle, up into the Rosalien Mountains, through forest landscapes to beautiful viewpoints and back to the starting point.

Tips in the surroundings
- The pewter figurine world Katzelsdorf shows more than 40,000 figurines on 1,200 m2 exhibition space. A family museum of a special kind, historical sequences, fairy tales, film actors, old toys and more are presented here. What used to be toys is now a coveted collector's item.
- Katzelsdorf Castle was built as early as the 12th century. Today it serves as an event and seminar center
- The parish church of Katzelsdorf is a late Gothic church, built in 1458 as a Franciscan church under Johann Sigismund von Weißpriach. Guided tours are possible.
