Adventure with a view
It is hard to imagine more action, vistas and variety! Every corner of Gemeindealpe rocks, with its 15.5 km of slopes and four lifts. From powder to après-ski, fun is never in short supply here! Whether you are skiing through deep snow or visiting the huts, such as Wirtshaus zum Bäreneck or at Terzerhaus: The fun certainly never stops here!

Winter at Gemeindealpe turns into an unforgettable experience thanks to the expansive freeride terrain with Lower Austria’s steepest natural slope plus the longest family-style downhill run in the entire province, the fastest speed-cross and ski-cross routes as well as the popular Fun Park and unique panoramic views of the Prealps.

Thanks to the association "Skiberge an der Mariazellerbahn", ski passes are valid for the lifts in Annaberg, the Mariazeller Bürgeralpe and the Gemeindealpe Mitterbach.
Beyond the slopes
Recreation in Mitterbach ranges from the athletic to the romantic. Everyone loves keeping on the move here with the 12 km of cross country skiing trails, ice-skating and ice-curling at Dorfplatz plus snowy winter hikes to and around Erlauf Reservoir.
While ski mountaineers are often unwelcome in other ski areas, they are welcomed with open arms at the "Gmoa Oim" event. Two well-marked ascent routes on groomed slopes are available with the purchase of a €10 day skialp ticket, and there is also a reward run with a good 800 vertical metres of vertical - but you can also make your own tracks in the deep snow.
