Your stay
Villa Eisenwerk is a historic building with two guest apartments. Relaxation and tranquillity in an exclusive ambience await our appreciative guests.
The Villa Eisenwerk is located in a park area, adjacent to an extensive forest area as we love it in the Mostviertel. In the park we offer a variety of paths and places where our guests can relax. "Forest bathing and getting down from everyday life" – that's what we want to offer the friends of Villa Eisenwerk.
But also hikes starting from the house are gladly accepted and lead over the hilly landscape to many an inviting destination - inn or simply "look into the country"!
As part of our seminars, a wide program can be booked – from "fishing to yoga" – and the surrounding area offers a lot of variety for active guests.
On the upper floor of the villa there are two spacious apartments, which are suitable for groups of different sizes. The Garden View apartment has two bedrooms, each with a double bed. In the apartment balcony there is a double room as well as a multi-bed room for up to four people. Therefore, it is suitable as accommodation for up to six people.
History of Villa Eisenwerk
The history of the "hammer between Pesenderfl and Gebasbruckh" – today's Göblasbruck near Wilhelmsburg – is documented back to the 15th century. In 1871, Moritz Schmid von Schmidsfelden bought the same and built a production for wagon axles in the former Rohrhammer - a factory for front loader rifles.Through the participation of his sons August and Adolf Schmid von Schmidsfelden, the company M.Schmid&Söhne was founded, which already in the 1880s rose to a tool forge and tempered foundry. The constant expansion of the foundry with the connection of a Haberland foundry for steel casting allowed Adolf Schmid von Schmidsfelden to begin the construction of a stately villa – the current Villa Eisenwerk – in the 1890s, and finally completed it in two stages of expansion in 1908. The villa is now owned by the Schmid von Schmidsfelden family in the 5th generation and lives up to its traditional history through a variety of activities.
