Hiking tip: From Annaberg-Reith station along the Mariazell Railway Trail
The Mariazell Railway Trail consists of several stages. One of them starts in Annaberg-Reith. The approximately three-hour route is easy to walk - and is also suitable for families with children: From the Annaberg-Reith train station, you take a goods path to Steinwandhof and continue along a marked trail. Along the Lassing reservoir, the hike leads to Wienerbruck - and on to Josefsberg, the highest parish in Lower Austria at 1,012 meters above sea level. Over idyllic forest paths it goes downhill to Friedenstein and further to the Erlauf, before finally reaching the destination in Mitterbach.
