Description

In the western part of Lower Austria, in the district of Amstetten, is the station Aschbach in the market town of the same name Aschbach-Markt. Space has been created for over 50 vehicles and 45 bicycles at the Park & Ride and Bike & Ride facilities, thus ensuring a convenient transfer to the train.

A ticket vending machine is located at the central platform, which allows ticket purchases around the clock. Due to timetable notices and loudspeaker announcements, passengers are always informed about the current rail traffic.

Route information

The Aschbach stop is located along the Westbahn line.

  • Regional trains to Amstetten and St. Valentin run here.
  • Trains to Vienna Westbahnhof also stop here at peak times.
  • Bus connections to the centre of Aschbach, Seitenstetten and Waidhofen an der Ybbs are also available from the station.

Sonntagbergweg

The train station Aschbach is an ideal starting point for a hiking trail to the Sonntagberg. With fantastic views of the typical Mostviertel hills, the traditional square farms and the idyllic fruit tree fields, you will be rewarded again and again along the hike until you finally arrive at the pilgrimage basilica on Sonntagberg.

Tip: At the foot of the Sonntagberg, the guest garden of the Lagler Inn is the perfect place to relax.
