Townspeople soon came to appreciate the recreational benefits of the countryside, so that often women and children spent the whole summer in the countryside, while the men devoted themselves to business in the town during the week and indulged in the country air at weekends. Because of the welcome and farewell scenes at the stations along the Kamptal, the Lokalbahn was soon nicknamed the "Busserlzug".
