The station Dürrwien owes its name to the river Wien, which rises as "Dürre Wien" at the Kaiserbrunnberg near Rekawinkel at an altitude of 520 meters. The station offers train passengers covered waiting facilities as well as a ticket vending machine for convenient ticket purchase. By means of loudspeaker announcements and timetable notices, the guests of the train service are informed about the current operation and can enjoy the contemplative scenery at the Pfalzberg until the arrival of the train.
More than 20 parking spaces for cars and mopeds at the stop allow carefree transfer to the train.
Route information
- The Dürrwien stop is on the route of the Westbahn from Linz to Vienna.
- Express trains of the S50 to Neulengbach as well as to Vienna Westbahnhof are served every half hour.
- Directly from the station there are connecting buses to Vienna Liesing, Tullnerbach, Neulengbach and Pfalzau.

A pleasant walk from Dürrwien station, Der Blitzwirt awaits its guests. Traditional home cooking meets high quality and a fantastic ambience - just the right start and finish for a mountain bike tour along the Pfalzberg route, which leads through the Pfalzberg via Ranzenbach and back to Pfalzau.
No less scenic, but only half as long, is the tour along the Pfalzau route. This circular tour leads via Pressbaum and Rekawinkel in just under 2 hours back.
