Description

Located along the southern railway line, the Eichberg station with the mountain of the same name as a backdrop blends into the varied landscape of the Semmering region. A waiting room has been set up in the large reception building, loudspeaker announcements inform railway guests about ongoing operations at the multi-track stop.

  • Trains to Vienna and Mürzzuschlag are served during the week at peak times.
  • There is a bus stop directly at the station.
  • Eichberg station is on the route of the historic Semmering Railway - the section of the Southern Railway built in 1848. The spectacular high mountain railway has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998 and is one of the most beautiful and impressive railway lines in Europe.

World Heritage Cycling

In keeping with the spirit of the World Heritage Site, you can also tour the beautiful route on a mountain bike. Starting at Gloggnitz station, the World Heritage bike route leads via Eichberg in the direction of Schottwien on country roads past the numerous bridges and viaducts that are so characteristic of the impressive railway line in the midst of the fantastic landscape.
