Train stationDescription
Helmahof station is located along the Nordbahn line as one of two train stops in the municipality of Deutsch Wagram in the Lower Austrian district of Gänserndorf. On two platforms, covered waiting facilities have been set up for all passengers, furthermore, there is a ticket vending machine on site. Loudspeaker announcements and timetable notices ensure that passengers are well informed.
Almost 190 parking spaces are available in the directly adjacent Park & Ride facility, and parking spaces for more than 100 bicycles have also been created to enable a comfortable transfer from road to rail.
Line connection
The Helmahof stop in Deutsch Wagram is on the route of the Kaiser Ferdinand Nordbahn.
- Regional trains of the S1 express line stop here in the direction of Gänserndorf as well as to Vienna Meidling.
- Bus connections to Strasshof, Ebenthal and the centre of Deutsch Wagram are available directly from the station.
History
The Helmahof, originally an estate of the lordship of Süßenbrunn, was recorded as early as 1697. Around 1809 it served the Austrian military as an ammunition depot. It was not until 1924 that the present municipal apartments of the municipality of Deutsch Wagram were built.
