The beautiful waiting shelter at Kamegg station welcomes its passengers. The elaborately designed stop protects from rain and wind at the single-track platform of the demand station. Since 1889 the villages along the Kamp have been connected to the public transport network of the Kamptal railway line.
Along the nature spoilt railway line of the Kamptalbahn is the hiking trail at the Kamp. In the midst of beautiful rocky landscape, the path leads with a view over the Kamp to the ruins of Kamegg and Stallegg up to Rosenburg Castle.
History
The construction of the Kamptal railway line meant a great economic upswing for many villages in the Kamptal. Not only the freight traffic and the easier accessibility of the transport of agricultural goods to Vienna suggested a significant turnaround, but also many city dwellers discovered the charm of the natural area around the Kamp and availed themselves of the peace and relaxation in the form of the so-called summer resort. In 2014, the Kamptalbahn celebrated its 125th anniversary and had a special train travel the route to mark the occasion.
