Located southeast of Vienna is the Schwechat train station in the Lower Austrian district of Bruck an der Leitha. Two ticket vending machines have been set up on site at the station along Vienna's S7 rapid transit line, enabling convenient ticket purchases. Two covered waiting areas offer passengers protection from wind and weather. Digital train destination displays as well as loudspeaker announcements and timetable notices provide information on the times of connecting trains.
The spacious Park & Ride facility provides rail passengers with parking spaces for 235 cars and mopeds. At the adjacent Bike & Ride station, 190 bicycles can be safely parked.
Tip: There is also a nextbike rental station directly at the station. The bikes are available in Lower Austria from April to mid-November. Schwechat Railway Museum
The railway museum is located directly at Schwechat station. Historical traction engines, numerous photos and signal boxes allow visitors to immerse themselves in the history of the railway. Special exhibitions promise a varied programme and invite young and old to come and marvel again and again.
