Station Hart-Wörth

Train station

Description

The small waiting house at Hart-Wörth station in the south of St. Pölten, the capital of Lower Austria, offers travellers shelter from the wind and weather. The single-track on-demand stop serves regional trains along the Traisentalbahn in the direction of Schrambach, Hainfeld and St. Pölten.

Located close to practice

The training centre of the Austrian Federal Railways is located directly at Hart-Wörth station. Originally, the building was used as an arsenal. In 1934, an important space was created there for the training and further education of train dispatchers and technicians. In the meanwhile extensively modernised training centre with many practically prepared teaching aids, ÖBB employees are prepared for their work and equipped for new challenges.

History

Originally, the line was opened under the name "k. k. Niederösterreichische Südwestbahn" in 1877. The connection of the communities in the south of Lower Austria to the railway line was considered a significant upgrade and stood for economic upswing.
