With a view of the Traisen river and the Mühlbach stream, Herzogenburg Stadt station in the municipality of the same name in Lower Austria's Traisen valley is a great place to spend some time. Centrally located, the station's waiting shelter also offers a ticket vending machine, as well as loudspeaker announcements and timetable posters providing information on current rail operations.

The station Herzogenburg Stadt is located on the line of the Tullnerfelderbahn, which continues to the Westbahnlinie.
- Trains of the rapid transit line S40 to St. Pölten and to Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof to Vienna stop here.
- There are also trains to Kritzendorf and Tulln.
Herzogenburg Abbey
After a short 10-minute walk from Herzogenburg Stadt station, you reach the tranquil Herzogenburg Abbey. The monastery of the Augustinian canons is an open-hearted meeting place in the Traisen Valley and offers not only the historic walls of the monastery itself, which can be visited on a guided tour, but also the beautiful monastery gardens and the lovingly stocked monastery shop, which also sells wines from the region. In addition to the varied programmes for children, insights into the impressive library and the extensive coin collection are also available on request.
Herzogenburg Abbey lies on the extensive paths of the Way of St. James along the Purkersdorf - Göttweig section. Starting from Herzogenburg, the paths, which are signposted throughout, lead further north-east to Walpersdorf and Paudorf on the edge of the Dunkelstein Forest and finally on to the next section to Melk.
