At 1800 meters above sea level, the impressive Hochschneeberg station on Schneeberg opened in 2009. The architecturally impressive station was designed to be barrier-free, with ramps facilitating boarding and alighting from Salamander trains where necessary. The on-site sanitary facilities are also barrier-free.
The Berghaus Hochschneeberg is directly connected to the station and offers culinary delights to underline the fantastic view. The mountain hotel, which was built in 1898, is also a popular starting point for hikers or a stop for refreshments on many a circular hike to the numerous surrounding mountain huts.

- Hochschneeberg station is the highest station in Austria and can be reached by Schneebergbahn trains during operating hours. The station is the terminus of the Schneebergbahn's continuation line and is one of three cogwheel railways still in existence in Austria.

A train ride on the Schneebergbahn line is a very special experience in itself, whether on the modern, comfortable Salamander trains or the rustic nostalgia trains.
Once you have reached the top, you will not only be offered breathtaking views of the Schneeberg, but also a great deal of variety.
