Station Kreisbach

South of the city center of St. Pölten is the station Kreisbach, which is located on the route of the Traisentalbahn or the former Leobersdorferbahn. Trains to the St. Pölten main station as well as to Hainfeld and Schrambach are served here. The single-track, modernly designed station near the town centre offers parking for around 40 bicycles as well as a Park & Ride facility, which provides space for 13 vehicles.

Excursion tip

The Kreisbach train station is an excellent starting point for a hike to the Ochsenburger Hütte. At an altitude of 294 m, the popular excursion destination is located on the Rudolfshöhe and can be reached in a good hour along a moderate incline. The trail leads along beautiful forest paths through graceful mixed forests. The hut is open all year round, but is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Kreisbach Castle

The impressive Kreisbach Castle is a 20-minute walk from the train station. The castle, which has been lovingly revitalized, offers a unique setting for weddings, parties and celebrations or simply for a very special breakfast. Only the friendly staff surpasses the incomparable ambience.
