Obersdorf station is located in the district of Mistelbach in the northeastern Weinviertel region of Lower Austria and is situated along the Laaer Ostbahn line and the Stammersdorfer Lokalbahn line. The station is multi-tracked, several glazed waiting berths offer protection from wind and weather for passengers in case of waiting times.
Platforms 1 & 2 are separated from platform 3 by an underpass and staircase. A ticket vending machine for unrestricted ticket purchase is located at the staircase of the underpass. Loudspeakers for announcements and timetable displays have been installed for both line connections to provide information on current rail traffic.
127 parking spaces for cars and mopeds are available at the adjacent Park & Ride facility, and parking spaces for over 60 bicycles have also been installed.
Rail connections
- Regional trains stop at platforms 1 & 2 in the direction of Vienna Airport, Mödling and Laa an der Thaya along the route of the Laaer Ostbahn.
- Platform 3 serves, among others, trains of the Stammersdorfer Lokalbahn line to Bad Pirawarth as well as to Großschweinbarth and further to Gänserndorf.
- Trains of the Vienna S2 rapid transit line to Mistelbach, Wolkersdorf and Mödling connect here.
- Trains also run along the Vienna S7 rapid transit line in the direction of Laa an der Thaya via Wolfsthal and to the station at Vienna International Airport.
- Numerous connecting buses to Gänserndorf and Vienna Floridsdorf as well as to Wolkersdorf centre and on to the provincial capital St. Pölten can be reached directly from the bus terminal at Wolkersdorf station.
Steam horse & bicycle
Along the former railway line from Stammersdorf to Obersdorf the cycle path "Dampfross und Drahtesel" follows the tracks of these historic tracks. To commemorate the former railway line, the "Zeitschiene" was erected at Obersdorf station - a track yoke on which stories about local railway events were immortalized.
