History
Passenger traffic was only of secondary importance to the originally built Leobersdorf line. Rather, the freight traffic handled on the line was intended to promote the companies that had settled there and thus the economic development of the region. Even though the line has been terminated for passenger traffic in Hainfeld since 2001, many a journey by train in the Lower Austrian foothills of the Alps can be enjoyed until then.
