History
During a train ride along the Gölsen one enjoys the Lower Austrian alpine foothills only too much. Even though passenger traffic was not the main focus when the original line of the Leobersdorferbahn was built. Rather, the surrounding businesses, which had settled in the course of time, were to benefit from a connection to the high-performance railway line. However, necessary maintenance work on the part of the railway line was neglected and so in 2001 passenger transport was only established as far as Hainfeld.
