Station Waidhofen/Ybbs Lokalbahn

The rustic reception building at the Waidhofen/Ybbs Lokalbahn station along the route of the Waidhofen/Ybbs Citybahn offers comfortable seating, as well as some parking for cars, mopeds and bicycles.

Route information

• A section of the narrow-gauge railroad, which was formerly operated as the Ybbstalbahn, is used by the Waidhofen/Ybbs Citybahn over a length of 3.1 kilometers. The colorful trains of the Citybahn serve six stops that connect the Waidhofen an der Ybbs train station with the town center.
• The Waidhofen/Ybbs Citybahn trains to Waidhofen an der Ybbs and Pestalozzistrasse stop here every half hour on weekdays and every hour on Sundays and public holidays.
• Tickets for travel on the Citybahn can be purchased directly on the train, as well as online and at all ÖBB ticket machines.

City & Country

After a five-minute walk you can reach the Ybbsuferweg - the picturesque theme path along the intoxicating Ybbs. It's hard to tell where the city ends and nature begins here, because both can be explored and enjoyed in equal measure on this family-friendly path in just over half an hour.
