Embedded in the Wolfsbergkogel is the station of the same name along the route of the Semmering Railway - a section of the Southern Railway. A roofed waiting shelter has been set up for train passengers.
Route information
- Regional trains to Payerbach-Reichenau and Semmering stop here.
- During rush hours, trains to Vienna and Mürzzuschlag are also served.
- As the first standard-gauge mountain railway in Europe, the Semmering Railway has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998. 14 tunnels, 16 viaducts and more than 100 arched bridges accompany passengers along this scenic route and make a trip a special experience.
20 Shilling View
Located on the Wolfskogel, along the railway hiking trail you reach the " 20 Schilling Viewpoint", from where you can enjoy a particularly good view of the "Kalte Rinne" viaduct, which was once printed on the 20 Schilling banknote.
