Stiefern train station
Train stationDescription
The train station Stiefern is located in the market town Schönberg am Kamp and welcomes its guests with the lovingly designed waiting shelter, which offers sufficient protection while waiting for the Kamptalbahn in case of weather conditions.
The picturesque village of Stiefern lies at the heart of the Kamptal Nature Park. Surrounded by vineyards and farmland, it offers a wealth of opportunities to explore the nature-loving landscape. The river trail, for example, offers an opportunity to discover the most beautiful aspects of the region along a flat hiking path.
Those who prefer to look for relaxation and time out on a bicycle will certainly find both in the course of the Kamptal cycle path. If you take the 115.5 km long cycle path, which is a branch of the Danube cycle path, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the exhilarating Kamptal in its most beautiful form.
History
After the opening of the Kamptal railway line in 1889, the villages along the Kamp experienced a significant economic upswing, not only because agricultural products could be transported much more easily to Vienna, but also because the region became of interest to city dwellers, who increasingly found recreation and relaxation in the nature spoiled region.
