Description

Getzersdorf station is located on the eastern edge of the market town of the same name in the Lower Austrian district of St. Pölten-Land. The rustic reception building at the single-track station houses a waiting room, in which there is also a ticket machine. Loudspeaker announcements and timetable notices keep the guests of the railway informed about the current operation. Several parking spaces directly in front of the station ensure a carefree transfer to the train.

Route information

The Getzersdorf stop is located along the Tullnerfeldbahn and thus also serves the new Westbahn line.

  • Trains of the S40 to Tulln and further to Vienna to the Kaiser Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof stop here.
  • Trains to the main station in St. Pölten also stop here.

Theyerner Höhe

If you start from the train station Getzersdorf and walk for about an hour to the west through the picturesque expanses of the lower Traisental, you will be rewarded in the Hollenburgerwald on the Theyerner Höhe surrounded by vineyards with a fabulous view of the foothills of the Alps and the monastery Herzogenburg.
