Kapellerfeld station is located in the district of Korneuburg in the Weinviertel, near the northern city limits of Vienna. The two tracks of the station, which are accessible from the central platform, are located along the Laaer Ostbahn line. Ticket vending machines installed on the platform make it possible to buy train tickets around the clock. A glassed-in waiting bunk has also been installed on the platform. There are also up-to-date timetable notices and the loudspeaker system for announcements and information on rail operations.
Furthermore, 15 parking spaces for cars and mopeds have been created at the directly connected Park & Ride facility. The Bike & Ride facility offers space for more than 45 bicycles.
Line connections
- The station Kapellerfeld is served by trains of the Viennese rapid transit line S7 in the direction of Laa an der Thaya via Wolkersdorf im Weinviertel and Wolfsthal as well as to the station at Vienna International Airport.
- Trains of the Viennese rapid transit line S2 to Mistelbach and Mödling are served.
- Connecting buses to Gerasdorf and Föhrenhain can be reached directly from Kapellerfeld station.
Marchfeld Canal Cycle Path
The Marchfeld Canal can be reached from Kapellerfeld station in about 20 minutes on foot or a good 5 minutes by bike. Built between 1986 and 2004 to improve water management in the Marchfeld region, the canal system ensures the long-term improvement of water quality as well as water supply by guiding Danube water into the Marchfeld.
As important as the construction of the canal is - as beautiful is the environment of the created network of paths, which with a length of more than 100 kilometres contributes greatly to the enrichment of the leisure offer in the region. The route from Langenzersdorf via Vienna through "Austria's vegetable garden" along the Marchfeld Canal Cycle Path offers just one of the many opportunities to cycle along the water and learn many stories about nature and the Marchfeld castles.
