Close to the centre of the garden city Tulln an der Donau, the station Tulln Stadt is one of two train stops. The station can be described as barrier-free, modern and comfortable throughout, which is equipped with ticket machines and digital train destination displays in keeping with the times. The two platforms can be reached safely by means of underpasses and lifts and offer rail passengers a covered waiting area.
Route information
The station Tulln Stadt is located on the route of the Tullnerfelder Bahn and the Neue Westbahnstrecke.
- It is served by trains of the S40 rapid transit line to Kritzendorf and on to Vienna's Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof.
- Furthermore, trains of the S40 line to St. Pölten stop.
- Express trains of the line S4 to Tullnerfeld stop as well as to Stockerau.
- On site the bus stop offers numerous connections, among others to Judenau, Klosterneuburg, St. Pölten and Vienna Hernals.
Leisure time in the garden city
Due to the central location of the bus stop Tulln Stadt, there are numerous leisure activities which can be reached on foot directly from the station. After only 5 minutes on foot you will find the shopping heart of the city, the Rosenarcade Tulln, with a variety of shops and gastronomy and then you are directly at the main square of the flower city, which can best be explored during a leisurely stroll. Strengthened by the culinary variety, the Danube beach, which is not far away anyway, can be reached even faster. The large children's playground offers a great adventure for the little ones, while others prefer to take in the unbridled power of the Danube and watch the ships of the MS Stadt Wien.
Visitors can walk for a good 20 minutes to Garten Tulln. More than 70 show and model gardens are presented in the large area and invite visitors to discover and explore. The best view of the impressive grounds is from the 30-metre-high treetop walk located in the grounds. You can easily spend a whole day along the barrier-free, family-friendly paths through the fantastic gardens, because in addition to the adventure and nature playground, there is also the opportunity to explore one of the revitalised arms of the Danube by canoe - there is definitely no time for boredom here.
