History
Under the company name "k. k. private niederösterreichische Südwestbahn" the "Leobersdorf-St. Pölten Eisenbahngesellschaft" bought the railway line at that time. However, the construction of the line was so financially costly that the construction and operation had to be taken over by the state. The opening of the line took place in 1893.
