Description
The Leth family's winery is located in the heart of the Wagram, a region known for its unique loess terroir. Grüner and Roter Veltliner, which cover almost two thirds of the winery's 50 hectares of vineyards, thrive here. The south-facing loess terraces with good water storage capacity offer ideal conditions for the vinification of a wide range of wines full of character.
The wines of the ‘Klassik’ series impress with their typical spiciness and clear varietal character. The single-vineyard wines from Scheiben, Brunnthal, Schafflerberg and Fumberg show the potential of each vintage. As a member of the Österreichische Traditionsweingüter, the top vineyards are classified as ‘Erste Lagen’. Complex, highly mature wines with a dense body and the finest minerality are produced here. Although the focus of production is on white wine, the Zweigelt wines and the Pinot Noir reserve demonstrate the winery's expertise in red wine. The high quality level of the wines is reflected in top ratings in all Austrian wine guides. Today, around two thirds of the production is sold in over 20 export countries. Weingut Leth is an organic and sustainably certified winery that does not use herbicides and insecticides and is committed to biodiversity and the responsible use of natural resources.
