The inn Gruber Weitenegg in the district of Melk combines the best of two worlds: traditional architecture meets cozy interior. In the middle of the picturesque landscape of the Nibelungenaus, directly at the gate to the Wachau, the two innkeepers Andrea and Johann Gruber are in their element. The lovingly run country inn has embodied the values of the region for over 25 years. The Waldviertler kitchen is the central reason for a stop at the inn. The lived hospitality and the dedicated service staff are further pieces of the puzzle that complete the overall picture. The preferred choice in the menu is the Sonntagsbratl vom Fritzelsdorfer straw pork or the crunchy baked chicken. The choice of desserts is difficult, the homemade pastries are excellent. The Wachau apricot dumplings with butter crumbs spray only so regionality.
