From Rax cableway mountain station you walk on snowshoes towards Gatterlkreuz and continue over the Rax plateau until you reach the Ottohaus. Follow the yellow signposts and the part-made sections of trail.
Between October and April the Ottohaus is only open at weekends in good weather! Raxalm Berggasthof is open all year round.

Route description From Raxalm Berggasthof (mountain inn) to the Ottohaus
The tour starts from the valley station of Rax cableway. A few minutes on the cableway takes us up to the mountain station at 1,547 m above sea level. From Rax cableway mountain station we follow the signs to Gatterlkreuz and carry on until we reach the Ottohaus. After taking refreshment, we follow the same route back to the mountain station.
If you like, you can make a detour to the Höllental viewing point to enjoy the breathtaking view over the Höllental.

A2 to the Seebenstein intersection - S6 to Gloggnitz - B27 to Hirschwang an der Rax, Rax cableway valley station (at the end of Hirschwang village)
Parking
There is a car park at Rax cableway valley station.
Take the Southern Railway to Payerbach-Reichenau. Buses run at regular intervals between Payerbach-Reichenau station and Rax cableway valley station.
